With a formal background in nursing, Romie Jean-Charles has focused the majority of her career on pharmaceutical sales. She first began in this industry as Territory Sales Representative at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now owned by Pfizer Inc.), where she oversaw a three-state territory. As one of a team of four, Jean-Charles focused on penetrating and maintaining market share. Her efforts proved fruitful as her territory moved from last in rankings to first and she received awards for #1 Performance for all three of her products. In order to make sales, Romie Jean-Charles conducted presentations to physicians and company executives, achieving a substantial increase in market shares for her products. She was ranked in the top 30 percent of all sales associates in the Mid-Atlantic zone.
Romie Jean-Charles followed up her success at Wyeth with a new position at Sepracor Inc. (currently Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc.) in Rockville, Maryland, as a Respiratory Sales Specialist. She launched the marketing of a product portfolio to the heads of hospital departments and other influential figures in the healthcare industry. She managed a three-county territory that included Rockville and Bethesda. To enhance sales, Romie Jean-Charles put time into developing relationships with hospital staff and also delivered speeches at dinners, luncheons, educational seminars, and special events. She grew the market share from 13.3 percent to 29.5 percent, exceeding company expectations.
In her next move, Romie Jean-Charles accepted the position of Senior Territory Account Manager at Dey Pharma, L.P., in Silver Spring, Maryland. Here she offered product knowledge to CFOs and CEOs of relevant companies while incorporating marketing and service techniques. In order to better her efforts, she conducted market analysis using software tools that tracked customer information. She ultimately grew market share from 47.63 percent to 157.2 percent within her first four months in her territory, earning the Performist Incentive Award and recognition as the Regional Product Leader.
Since 2009, Romie Jean-Charles has been offering her expertise and sales background at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated, working out of both Virginia and Maryland. Currently, she functions as Manager for Internal Account Representative in Baltimore.
